The Company's objects are:- To promote by common effort, or otherwise, any charitable purpose for the benefit of parents and ch ildren of one parent families living and/or working in Edinburgh and Lothian Region designed to advance education or relieve poverty, distress and sickness and, in particular, without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing:- (a) To provide lone parent families with information and advice, both practically and emotionally, to help them overcome the difficulties of bringing up children on their own. (b) To promote a better understanding by society of the needs of lone parent families in the form of pu blicity and advertising. (c) To expand our range of childcare facilities and develop more local self help groups, to encourage lone parents to become more self confident, thereby improving the quality of their life.
