Provider Standards

The quality of the supporter experience depends on the quality of the providers we work with. This page explains how we select providers and what standards we expect them to meet.

Selection criteria

Before a provider is listed on Switch4Good, we assess them against the following criteria:

  • Regulatory standing: the provider must hold the appropriate licences and registrations for the services they offer (e.g. Ofgem licence for energy supply, Ofcom registration for telecoms)
  • Pricing transparency: tariffs and charges must be presented clearly, without hidden fees or misleading introductory offers
  • Switching process: the switch must be handled smoothly, with clear communication to the customer at each stage
  • Complaint handling: the provider must have a published complaints procedure and be a member of the relevant ombudsman or ADR scheme
  • Customer service: the provider should offer accessible, responsive customer support
  • Data protection: the provider must comply with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018

Ongoing monitoring

Listing on the platform is not permanent or guaranteed. We monitor provider performance through supporter feedback, public complaints data, regulatory actions, and our own quality checks. If a provider falls below our standards, we will:

  • Raise the issue with the provider directly
  • Add a notice to the provider listing if appropriate
  • Suspend or remove the provider from the platform if the issue is serious or unresolved

What we do not do

We do not guarantee the quality of any provider’s service. Switch4Good is an introducer, not a provider. The contract for the service is between the supporter and the provider. However, we take responsibility for the quality of the introduction and the fairness of how services are presented on our platform.

We do not rank providers solely by commission rate. Where commission varies, we do not allow it to distort how services are presented to supporters.

Reporting a concern

If you have a concern about a provider listed on the platform, please contact us at hello@switch4good.co.uk. We take provider feedback seriously and it directly informs our ongoing review process.
