The Trust is established for the benefit of the public and, subject to that qualification, the object for which the Trust is established is to promote the general welfare of old people in the City of Glasgow by initiating and carrying out schemes for that purpose, by assisting the work of the statutory authorities and voluntary organisations engaged in providing facilities for physical and mental recreation, furthering health, relieving poverty, distress or sickness and in pursuing any object having these ends in view, which now or hereafter may be deemed by law to be charitable.
