To advance the education of the public on the subject of recycling so as to protect the environment, and To preserve and protect the physical and natural environment for the public benefit through the promotion of waste reduction and recycling, and in furtherance thereof. a) To promote the further reduction, reuse and recycling of waste across the communities of Orkney b) To offer small grants to organisations in Orkney to support projects that promote education about waste or lead to reductions in waste c) To campaign and lobby for a zero-waste future d) To take actions towards zero-waste by supporting at least one project per year e) To work in partnership with public, private and voluntary organisations to seek end solutions for existing collection systems.
