The Trustees shall hold the Trust Fund for such purposes as are recognised by law to be exclusively charitable for the purposes of Section 505 of the Income and Corporation Taxes Act 1988 and in particular but without prejudice to that generality:- (a) To preserve for the public benefit the whole or such part or parts of the Mansion House of Paxton, its related buildings and its gardens and policies as shall or may become vested in the Trustees or in respect of which the Trustees shall have any interest (referred to as 'Paxton'). (b) To protect and improve the amenities of Paxton for the public benefit. (c) To preserve for the public benefit as an adjunct to Paxton furniture, pictures, books, works of art and other corporeal moveables or chattels ordinarily kept at Paxton or which may be given or loaned to the Trustees and which the Trustees shall consider to be appropriate to be kept at Paxton provided that money shall only be expended by the Trustees on the enhancement of furniture, pictures, books, works of art and other corporeal moveables or chattels which are lent to them if the loan agreement confers on the Trustees in the event of the termination of the loan full rights of compensation for any money so expended. (d) To facilitate and encourage access to and study and appreciation of Paxton and such corporeal moveables or chattels by the general public....
