The short version

General information, not advice

  • Complain to your provider first and keep the date and case reference.
  • After six weeks, or sooner with a deadlock letter, you can take an unresolved complaint to its independent ADR scheme for free.
  • The contacts below are listed alphabetically, including Switch4Good partners. No provider is ranked or recommended here.

Something wrong? Tell us and we'll check it against the provider's website within two working days.

If something's gone wrong

  1. Tell the provider. Use its complaints page or phone number below. Say it's a formal complaint and keep a note of the date and case reference.
  2. After six weeks, or with a deadlock letter, you can take the unresolved complaint to the provider's independent alternative dispute resolution (ADR) scheme. The six-week rule has applied since 8 April 2026.
  3. Ask its ADR scheme. The provider's scheme is shown below. Communications Ombudsman and CISAS both offer free independent review.

Some broadband and landline providers have joined Ofcom's automatic compensation scheme. It may cover a delayed repair after total loss of service, a missed engineer appointment or a delayed start. Check whether your provider has signed up and report a loss of service to it promptly.
