To advance the education of the public and in particular to increase and disseminate the knowledge and practice of seamanship and sailing (both racing and cruising), pilotage and navigation and the knowledge of good design of sailing and motor craft and equipment with a view to improving safety at sea and in coastal and inland waters. 2. To provide facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupations particularly connected with sailing for young people, especially those from deprived areas, in the interest of social welfare and with the object of improving the condition of life of such persons. 3. To preserve for the public benefit craft, property and navigational and other records of significance in connection with the sea and sailing. 4. To benefit in any way such other charitable object or objects in any part of the world as the Trustees shall in their absolute discretion think fit to support or establish.
